Organize a meal packaging event

School feeding programs and emergency food aid provide important nutrients and energy for the world’s most vulnerable people and people in crisis.   Many organizations across Canada and the United States bring volunteers together at schools, houses of worship, community centers and even stadiums to package food aid for those in dire need both at home and abroad.

Meal packaging events engage participants in a hands-on activity with direct impact on hunger and provide the platform for educating friends, family and the community about domestic and global hunger. Participants compile dried, ready-to-prepare meals that consist of grain, protein and vegetable blends. With just 35-40 volunteers and 2 hours to spare, over ten thousand meals can be prepared.  With a few more hands, one meal packaging event has the potential of preparing up to one million meals!
