2004 study-action packet

The World Food Day Study/Action Packet is an integral part of the teleconference program and also serves as a separate study resource. Copies of the packet are distributed months prior to the teleconference to colleges and other institutions which register for the teleconference. All or parts of the packet are reproduced by many of the participating sites.

The 2004 packet was developed by the national office of the U.S. National Committee for World Food Daywith the assistance of representative site organizers. The packet has three sections:

  1. Theme Overview. This 49-page section is a summary of the key issues and includes special contributions from several publications as well as the basic paper by the editor.
  2. Bibliography. This 4-page bibliography included 102 entries.
  3. Action Section. This 21-page section was written by site coordinators.

This was the twenty-first Study/Action Packet prepared in conjunction with the World Food Day teleconference. As in previous years the structure of the packet was designed to facilitate photocopying and reproduction of sections of individual pages. Sites are encouraged to copy the materials without any further permission from the U.S. National Committee. The packet was partially funded by a special grant from USAID.
