The Seminar will examine efforts to expand financial services to the poor, both by building from the ground up and by helping existing banks to "scale down" to serve poor communities. Experts from the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), FINCA International and ACCION International will provide first-hand accounts of their work to engage commercial banks in poverty reducing microfinance operations. A representative of Citigroup will provide the private commercial bank perspective and there will be time for questions and answers and to engage with these experts during the seminar.
