According to Egri, "In the Indian world, corn is the life giver. Corn dances are a most important ceremoy throughout the Indian cultures. As a matter of fact, civilizations began with the first planting of corn." In this design corn the world over is represented by its occuring all around the circle. Corn in the desgn is also the rays of the sun. People inside the circle, hands joined, represent the importance of corn (food) for all peoples.
